Some quick facts about Vitamin E:

Vitamin E helps utilize fat and prevents Vitamin A, Linoletic acid, and other nutrients from destruction by oxygen in the body.

It is recommended to give around 1-2 IU’s of Vitamin E per pound of body weight daily, or you can give a higher amount less often.

Be sure to get natural sources of Vitamin E, look for alpha tocopherol or d-alpha tocopherol, don’t purchase synthetic Vitamin E sources such as dl-alpha tocopherol.

Vitamin E can be found in these foods:  Wheat germ, corn, nuts, seeds, spinach and other green leafy vegetables, asparagus, vegetable oils

How I feed my dogs

My dogs get a combination of raw and cooked, depending on the day and my mood, both of them get a calcium supplement if they are not getting any grinds (meat and bone ground together) or any raw meaty bones (turkey necks etc), I also give both of them a multivitamin/mineral, their fish oil supplement and their Vitamin E supplement.

I buy my Vitamin E from a health food store in town, I make sure and get an all natural form (alpha tocopherol or d-alpha tocopherol) and I usually get it in capsule form. I buy the 200 IU bottle, this way I can give my dogs one capsule every other day or so.
